Newton Diehl Baker Jr. (December 3, 1871 – December 25, 1937) was an American lawyer, Georgist, politician, and government official. He served as the 37th mayor of Cleveland, Ohio from 1912 to 1915. U.S. bankruptcy referee, 1916-67, and one of the leading civic leaders of Cleveland, Ohio. A supporter of the reforms of the progressive era, Friebolin served as state representative (1911-13) and senator (1913-14), and as judge of Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court.
