Grant, with letters patent, 1634, June 3. 15 Charles I.

Indenture made between William Audrey, cleric, vicar of Mordon (Surrey), and Richard Garth of Mordon, esq., "true and undoubted patron of the church of Mordon," witnessing that whereas the lord king had given license by letters patent dated 3 July, 6 Charles I, to a grant of exchange in mortmain to the said church of 14 acres of land lying in Mordon (divided in part into 2 closes called "Newberry Close" to the West and "Parklands" to the East, comprising 11 acres; and another close called "Emcotes Law" containing 2 acres lying between the vicar's lands called "Vicars Pightells"), therefore William Audrey grants to Richard Garth, his heirs, and assigns, all the glebe lands of the church, except the cemetery and the mansion house, to hold to his own use in exchange for the 14 acres formerly granted by Richard Garth to William Audrey. Given 3 June, 15 Charles I. Appended: letters patent of Walter, bishop of Winchester, confirming the above exchange. Dated 3 June, 15 Charles I.
