Lease, 1638, February 15. 13 Charles I.

Assignment by John Cary of Marybone Parke (Midd.), esq., and George Farewell of Hill Bishopps (Somers.), esq., to Arthur Duck of London, doctor of laws, of a lease for 99 years from 31 May, 12 Charles I [1636], made by the said John Cary to the said George Farewell, of a moiety of the manor of Mynster in the Isle of Thanett (Kent), late parcel of the monastery of St. Augustine near the walls of Canterbury, being a moiety of all the lands granted by letters patent, dated 24 December, 9 James I [1611], to Sir Philip Cary, knight, since deceased, John Williams, late of London, esq., since deceased, and Sir William Pitt, knight, since deceased, by the name of William of Westminster, esq., to hold for the unoccupied term free from encumbrances, etc. With note on reverse: "This deed was shewed unto Willm Bellamy at the time of his [?] in Chancery on the behalfe of Richard Duck, esquire, complainant, against John Cary, esquire, deforciant."
