Lease, 1581, February 8. 23 Elizabeth I.

Lease by Eustace Mascall of Farneham Royall (Bucks.), yeoman, to John Noke of Farnham Royal, blacksmith, of a close known or called "Early Croft," lying in Farneham Royall and containing 6 acres, bounded to the south by the land of Thomas Wright, at the north by land of William Ive, and on the west by the land of Mr. Eyer; reserving to the lessor all trees standing and growing upon the hedgrows of the said close, with free entrance and egress at all times to fell and carry away any of the said trees, "saving harmeles the said John Noke and his assignes from all hurtes and losses in the fetching away of them," for the term of 21 years from Michaelmas next, at the annual rent of 5s. payable at Michaelmas at or witin the mansion and now dwelling house of the said Eustace called Farnham Court. Given 8 February, 23 Elizabeth I.
