Grant, 1564, May 8. 6 Elizabeth I.

Grant by Thomas Burro of Withambroke in the county of Suffolk, gentleman, to James Shereman of the city of London, musician, for the sum of £10 of a close containing 3 roods of land lying in the parish of Stechworth in the county of Cambridge, late in the tenure and occupation of John Folkes and his assigns. This close was formerly granted for the support of an oblate in the parish church of Stechworth and was acquired by the said Thomas from Robert Hitchercoke of Cauersfeld in the county of Buckingham, esquire, and John Gyfford of Nothehall in the county of Middlesex, gentleman, by deed dated 11 July, 5 Elizabeth [I], to whom it was granted by letters patent dated 10 July, 5 Lizabeth [I]. With a notes that the above grant was recopied in the court of John Orphinstrange on 19 June. Endorsed with a note in Latin of enrolment on the dorse of the Close Roll in 19 June of that year.
