Lease, 1624, June 21. 22 James I.

Lease by Sir Phillipp Cary of Hunslett in the county of York, knight, to Richard Speede of Aldenham in the county of Hertford, gentleman, and John Rogers of Clifford's Inn, London, gentleman, for a thousand years, of his moiety of the lordship and manor of Minster in the Isle of Thanet, Kent, and all of the other lands granted to him, being a parcel of the possessions of the dissolved monastery of St. Augustine, Canterbury, which he had of John Williams, citizen and goldsmith of London, and William Pitt, then of the city of Westminster, esquire, now knight by letters patent dated 24 December 9 James I; William Pitt by indenture having released to Cary and Williams all his right in the premises.
