Grant by William Scampton of Stonie Stanton (Leics.), clerk, to his son Richard Scampton of Thromaston (Leics.), yeoman, for 12d. paid in hand of land, etc., in Sapcote (Leics.), purchased by the said William the father from Francis Stokesmart, esq.; also of 1 parcel of arable close or pasture in Sythston, alias Syson, in the said county, and likewise purchased of the gift and grant of Robert Weldon; also pasture for 1 other great beast "whether hors kinf or meat king" purchased of the gift and grant of Thomas Breltle; also 13 rods of land in Sythston, or Syston, aforesaid, purchased of the gift and grant of Thomas Gibson. Given on 23 November 17 James [I] A.D. 1619.
