Will of Richard Kemsall, 1603, August 22 and August 31. 1 James I.

Will of Richard Kempsall of the parish of St Botolph without Bishopsgate, citizen and farrier of London. After payment, his debt, his goods and chattels are to be divided into three equal parts and distributed as follows: one part to his wife Mary, the second part to his four daughters ,Elizabeth, Faith, Joan, and Margaret, and the residue of the third part to his wife after payment of various legacies: 20s. to John Kempsall his nephew; 20s. to Joanne Philipott, the daughter of Nicholas Philipott; 6s. a piece to his blessed friends Allen Downer, Thomas Donning, John Kirkland, and John Hake; 10s. to the poor of the parish. His lands, tenements, etc., to his wife for her life and afterwards to his four daughters and heirs forever. His wife to be sole executrix; Allen Downer, Thomas Donning, John Kirkland, and John Hake to be supervisor overseers of his will. Given 22 August, 1 James I, 1603. Note of probate dated 31 August 1603, registered in court of the lord bishop Richard.
