The California Democratic State Central Committee (CDSCC) coordinates all Democratic Party activities in the state. The CDSCC has been in existence since at least 1928 and was responsible for establishing the California De,ocratic Council (CDC) in 1953, an important grassroots organization coordinating local political clubs which endorse local democratic candidates. The CDSCC's role includes fund raising for national, state and county elections, disseminating literature on election campaigns, coordinating volunteers, and maintaining a state headquarters for the party. The collection includes annual reports, by-laws, campaign materials, correspondence, handbooks, minutes, newsletters, pamphlets and related legislative materials.
