Gordon Hatler Scott (1901-1970) received his Ph.D at the University of Minnesota in 1926. He was assistant professor of cytology at the Washington University School of Medicine from 1928-1931 and associate professor of cytology (1931-1941) and histology (1941-1942). He came to Washington University with E.V. Cowdry after assisting with cytological studies of malaria at the Rockefeller Institute for Medical Research.
