Lease by John Hales, one of the Barons of the King's Exchequer, to William Heyman of Tenterden (Kent) and Peter Heyman his son of a piece of land containing 5 acres, called Churchemarlyng, lying in Tenterden in the tenure of the tenure of Mynstre in the Isle of Thanet, bounded by land of the grantor, late of John Monyns, gentleman, and other lands of the grantor, and land late of Moses Pette, and a lane called "Curtlan", which piece of land belonged formerly to William Blossom and was held by the grantor jointly with Thorne Strekynbold, Thomas Carpenter, John Strekynbold, Thomas at Wode, William Presten the Younger, William Pyers the Younger of Mernsden, Richard Austen, Henry Adam, and John Pyers the Younger, butcher, now deceased, of a demise of John Pyers sometime of Tenterden, clerk, to carry out the last will of the said William Blossom, as by a charter dated 14 October, 5 Henry VII, more fully appears. The lease is for 7 years from Michaelmas next after the date hereof, at a yearly rent of 10s. to the grantor and his heirs of to the wardens of the goods and ornaments of the parish church of Tenterden; with convenant for re-entry in case of non-payment. Given on the 24th day of December in the year 18 Henry VIII.
