Grant by Master Henry Peke, clerk, and Stephen Hogge to John Brounyng and Joan his wife, in tail, of 2 messuages, 2 gardens under the wood of Haywood, lying in the east near the tenement of Robert Hyll, in the west bounded by that of Richard Roke, in the north by the aforesaid Haywood and in the south by the King's Highway, 2 granges with a garden adjacent bounded on the west by the tenement of the aforesaid grantor, Stephen Hogge, to the East by that of Richard Crokker, to the south by that of Robert Thurston, and to the north by the Kings's way, also a close of land upon Blaxtondowne bounded in the west by the tenement of Walter Hallewyll, to the east by that of Robert Hyll, to the south by the seamore and to the north by the same King's Highway, all in the borough of Plympton Earl [Plymoton comitis]; remainder, in default of issue, to the heirs of the said John Brouning forever. Given at Plympton Earle on the Thursday after the Purification of the Blesses Virgin Mary, 13 Henry VI.
