Interview with William Mercer, a Navy veteran and a radio/TV announcer, concerning his experiences aboard LCI-439 in the Pacific Theater during World War II. Mercer discusses the Battle of Leyte Gulf and the kamikazes, the Battle of Okinawa, and the preparations for the invasion of Honshu.
