Grant by John Asshebye the elder, husbandman, of Lapworthe (Warwicks.) to William Fetherston, yeoman, of Packwoode (Warwicks.), Thomas Slye, yeoman, of Lapworthe, John Gryswolde, weaver, of the same, John Wheler, wheelwright, of Kingswoode (Warwicks.), and William Laytham, husbandman, of Lapworthe of his tenement in Packwoode and two crofts adjacent, lying in breadth between the road from Packewoode to Lapworthe on the north, and land of the lord of Packwoode called Scottysland on the south, and extending in length from the road leading from Packwoode to Warwick on the east to land of William Asheby called Colehierns and land late of John Fulwood of London called Smithescroftes on the west, which he lately had of the gift of Roger Walton of Lapworth by charter dated 20 April, 37 Henry VIII; to the use of the grantor for life, with successive remainders in tail male to John Assheby the younger, son of the grantor, Martin Asshebye, and Bartholomew Asshebye, with remainder to the right heirs of the grantor. Given on 15 February, 13 Elizabeth [I].
