Papers of Mary Dickens, 1991-1993.

The papers consist of photocopies of newspaper articles about National Night Out in Waterloo and an article about Dickens's baking for shut-ins. The collection also includes photocopies of her poems, the first of which, "Just say 'no' to drugs," was published in Great poems of our time (1993).

Before moving to Waterloo, Mary Dickens lived in Chicago where she organized community residents and worked with Mayor Richard Daley to build a swimming pool for their neighborhood.
