Drinkwater, a British playwright and poet, worked for an insurance company. In 1909 he became manager of the Birmingham Repertory Company, and his most successful plays included "Abraham Lincoln," "Mary Stuart," and "Bird in Hand." Shambaugh, Benjamin Franklin, 1871-1940

Benjamin Shambaugh was born in Elvira, Iowa. He received degrees from the University of Iowa and the University of Pennsylvania. He married Bertha M. Horack in 1897. From 1895 until 1940 Shambaugh was a professor of political science at the University of Iowa, chairing the department from 1900 to 1940.
