Helen Hill Miller, economist and writer, daughter of Russell Day and Lucia (Elliott) Hill was born in Lake Forest, Illinois. She received her A.B. from Bryn Mawr in 1921, Diploma in Economics and Political Science from Oxford in 1922 and Ph.D from the University of Chicago in 1928.
