Ozra A. Hadley was born on 10 June 1826 and died on 18 July 1915. He served as governor of Arkansas from 1871 to 1873 in the stead of Sen. Powell Clayton. In 1873 Hadley bought a plantation in Lonoke County. He served as registrar of the U.S. Land Office at Little Rock from 1875 until 1877. Pres. Rutherford B. Hayes appointed him the postmaster of Little Rock on 6 June 1877. He served as postmaster until 1882, when he moved to New Mexico Territory and established a cattle ranch near Watrous. ...
