ALS to Abbie [Elizabeth Brackett] of Westbrook, Me., containing references to the assassination of Abraham Lincoln, but essentially pertaining to family matters. This letter signed "Nellie" is tentatively attributed to Nancy (Mahew) Brackett, who was married to Abbie E. Brackett's uncle, Dr. William Tyng Smith Brackett, who practiced medicine at Edgartown, Mass.
