Richard Penn Smith Papers, 1820-1868.

The collection consists primarily of correspondence addressed to Richard Penn Smith but also includes an Edwin Forrest scrapbook created by his son Horace, some financial information, portraits and an unpublished manuscript of Caius Marius: a tragedy, written in 1830. The bulk of correspondence is in response to a dinner honoring Edwin Forrest held in December, 1837.
