Clippings, essays, letters and ephemera pertaining to the history of the Methodist Episcopal Church in Northern California. Much of the material pertains to the Napa District, which included the following counties: Del Norte, Humboldt, Mendocino, Marin, Sonoma, Napa, Lake, and part of Solano. Most of the letters are to Dr. C.V. Anthony from church members answering Anthony's request for historical information on the various churches in the district. There are historical sketches (handwritten) for the First Methodist Episcopal Church of Petaluma, the Methodist Episcopal Church of Napa, the North Bloomfield Circuit, the Occidental Methodist Episcopal Church, Redding and early methodism in Pottee Valley. A 22 page typescript by James H.N. Williams, Elder, reports on the Napa district activities in 1903.
