Henry Gutterson graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Architecture in 1905 and attended L'Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris, France from 1906 to 1909. He worked for John Galen Howard on the design staff for the Panama-Pacific Exposition and for the Oakland city architect's staff before opening his own practice in 1916. Gutterson's major projects include houses in St. Francis Woods, where he was supervising architect and the school building for the First Church of Christ, S...
