Mabie (1893-1961) was a journalist and writer. Born in Boston, Mass., she worked for the Bridgeport Post-Telegram until 1919, and then at the Christian Science Monitor until 1934. She was the author or coauthor of a number of books, including Heaven on Earth (1951), her reminiscences of childhood in Northfield, Mass., and evangelist D.L.
