Personal correspondence, minutes and organizational records, research papers, news releases, clippings, speeches, newsletters, pamphlets, and flyers documenting the women's movement in eastern Massachusetts during the 1970s and the early 1980s, and Pat Gold's involvement in it. The collection documents the formation of many committees, the founding of the Boston chapter of NOW, anti-war protests, abortion teach-ins, and the presidential campaign of Shirley Chisholm, and includes chapters from the first draft of Our Bodies, Ourselves, and writings on feminism and Judaism. Collection also includes one audiotape entitled "Seven Women Tell Their Abortion Story," 1971 (shelved separately as T-239).

Shirley Anita St. Hill Chisholm (1924-2005) activist, educator, politician and author was born in Brooklyn, New York, the oldest of four girls.
