Papers, 1884-1987 (inclusive).

Most of the papers in this collection are letters to Earhart from relatives, friends, and Amelia Earhart fans; the rest consists of Otis family memorabilia, and photographs, clippings, and other papers that mostly concern Amelia Earhart. With the exception of the Otis family papers, 1884-1900, Amelia's early correspondence, 1902-1928, and some later papers, the collection is chronologically focused on 1928-1940, the years when Amelia Earhart's aviation career was at its height and those immediately following her disappearance.
