[Hoosac Tunnel with locomotive engine and dignitaries] [graphic] / Black & Co. [1874 or 1875]

A photograph of the West Portal of the Hoosac Tunnel in western Massachusetts. A locomotive engine is shown in the tunnel's entrance with a group of twenty men and women posed in front of the portal. Most of the individuals appear to be dignitaries associated with the construction and development of the Hoosac Tunnel and it is likely that this photograph commemorates the completion of the tunnel's construction.
