Spiro Theodore Agnew (November 9, 1918 – September 17, 1996) was the 39th vice president of the United States from 1969 until his resignation in 1973. The Louisiana State University Centennial Committee was formed in June 1969 to choose a theme and coordinate events for the centennial of the University's move from Pineville to Baton Rouge in 1869.
