Sam Streetman Papers, ca. 1884-1965, undated.

Sam Streetman was a Houston lawyer, law professor, law school administrator, and judge. In 1923 Streetman, along with other prominent Houston lawyers, formed the South Texas School of Law as part of the Y.M.C.A of Houston. The school was advertised as a "high grade night law school". In 1945 the name of the school changed to the present South Texas College of Law. While continuing to practice law, Streetman served on the faculty of South Texas School of Law, as a member of the Board of Governors, as Assistant Dean and then Dean. This small collection provides a well-rounded view of the life of Streetman.
