Lewis French Stearns correspondence, 1862-1866.

Consists of nineteen letters written from the College of New Jersey (now Princeton University) during the American Civil War years to and from Lewis French Stearns, his family, and a friend. The letters shed light on the effects of the Civil War on Princeton during that period, while giving us a good cross section of the life of Princeton students at the time. Also included is a transcript of all the letters.
