Bailey, James Britton, papers, 1832-1869.

Papers consist of a volume of photostatic copies of Bailey's accounts and documents concerning the administration of his estate by Joseph Henry Polley, his son-in-law, as well as some of Polley's personal correspondence. Included is a typescript of Bailey's will.

Bailey settled in Texas before Stephen F. Austin arrived but was admitted as one of his colonists in 1824 and took part in the Battle of Velasco.
