Horgan (1903-1995) was born in Buffalo, N.Y. and spent his youth in New Mexico. He attended the Eastman School of Music, 1923-26, where he studied voice and participated in operatic productions. After leaving the Eastman School he turned to a career in writing, publishing many fiction and non-fiction works, for which he won two Pulitzer prizes and a Bancroft Prize. Haggott, John

John Haggott was born in Denver, and was the son of the late Warren A. Haggott, who had been a United States Congressman and Lieutenant Governor of Colorado.The younger Mr. Haggott studied architecture at Harvard College, from which he was graduated in 1935. A year later he joined the Theater Guild and was associated for many years with its Westport Country Playhouse.
