Papers of her husband, Thomas Munroe Shepherd (1856-1923), businessman and philanthropist, include account books, investment ledgers, cashbooks, bank accounts, and other documents dealing with various financial and business transactions, tax records, bills for house and grounds maintenance, and business and family correspondence, theatre programs, notebooks and journals, scrapbooks, records of organizations, biographical materials, and materials relating to Cooley Dickinson Hospital and his donation of the surgery there.

Family of Levi Shepherd (1743-1805) and Mary Pomeroy (1742-1824), of Northampton, Mass. Levi Shepherd owned a drugstore on Main Street and later was joined in the business by his sons Levi (1776-1820) and Thomas (1778-1846) at which time the business was expanded to include the manufacture of rope and duck cloth.
