Patricia Wilcox (1932-2002), poet and publisher, was born in Douglasville, Georgia on October 12, 1932. She married John Thomas Wilcox in 1955, and had three sons. Wilcox received her junior college degree from West Georgia College in 1951, and a Bachelor of Arts from Emory College in 1956. In 1975 she founded the Robinson Center Poetry Studio in Binghamton, New York and served as the director until 1979.
