Incoming and outgoing correspondence, primarily relating to the transfer of money, particularly in his role as State Treasurer. A number of requests are for pensions. In a 1782 letter, Kingsbury complains about a shortage of knapsacks for soldiers. Widow Bartlett, through an intermediary, inquires in 1800 whether a Negro wench previously sold by her husband could be repurchased. Of note is a letter of William Whitman, 1835, explaining his interpretation of women's rights to personal property, especially after marriage. Also a letter from Timothy Dwight, and legal documents including deeds, Kingsbury's military appointment, treasury documents related to school funds, and a warrant about unpaid taxes.
