Ghost Towns of Colorado [research notebook], 1904-1951.

A small notebook containing research on Colo. mining towns generated by Mathews during the late 1940's to 1950's comprises the collection. Each page contains typed information listing location, history, early business and mining information for an assortment of towns. The towns are arranged alphabetically and start with Ashcroft and end with White Pine. Postcards and original photographs of some of the towns have either been glued or laid in to illustrate each entry. There is also a loose assortment of paper ephemera included in the notebook. It appears that Mathews was compiling this information in preparation for writing a book entitled: "Ghost Towns of Colorado."
