Correspondence and album of Dorothy Allhusen [manuscript]. 1780-1923.

The collection includes a variety of letters to and from British and American aristocracy, novelists, parliamentarians, actresses, military commanders, and socialites. Correspondents include Dorothy Allhusen's mother, Lady Jeune, Winston Churchill, Benjamin Disraeli, Ellen Terry, Ada Rehan, W. S. Maugham, Lord Kitchener, A. Bonar Law and Thomas Hardy. There is a letter from Albert Edward, Prince of Wales, (later King Edward VII), and George, Duke of Cambridge, grandson of George III. Also, correspondence from St John Broderick, General Sir Redvers Buller, and Field Marshall Lord Roberts of Kandahar. There is also an album of newspaper cuttings, letters, photographs, poetry and personal thoughts about World War 1.
