Log of H.M.S. Endeavour [manuscript]. 1768-1770.

Manuscript copy of the log of the Endeavour, "... attribution of which is difficult ... considered anonymous" (J.C. Beaglehole, ed. "The Journals of Captain James Cook", I, ccxxxvii). It seems to be a fair copy done some time after the original, and does not cover the whole voyage but ends five days before the arrival of the Endeavour at Batavia, on her way homeward. The copy bears the trade card of the stationer who supplied the book - "Bate of Birchin Lane, Cornhill"
