MSS. and drawings connected with Baudin's Voyage aux Terres Australes, in the form of microfilms, negatives, photographs and slides. Scientific notes by Peron and Lesueur of New Holland, Maria Island, Van Diemen's Land and Timor, and a journal and drawings by levillain from the beginning of the voyage as far as Timor. Negatives (271) of zoological and ethnographical drawings by Petit and Lesueur of Van Diemen's Land, New Holland and Timor, and plans and views in N.S.W. and King Island; prints from these negatives and coloured slides of some of them.

Charles Alexandre Lesueur, artist and naturalist, was born on January 1, 1778, at Le Havre, France. He participated in Napoleon's expedition to Australia (1800-1804), and joined William Maclure in his geologic survey of Europe, the West Indies and the Eastern United States (1815-1817).
