Pianist, music teacher and composer. Originally from New Zealand, Francis (Frank) Hutchens became a popular concert pianist in Australia, and was a founding member of the New South Wales State Conservatorium of Music, where he taught for fifty years. In 1962, he received the O.B.E. for his services to music. Hutchens died in Sydney in 1965 as the result of a car accident. Margot Anthony, wife of Doug Anthony, was one of Hutchens' students at the Conservatorium. ...
