Sir Charles Fitzroy writes from his posting to Canada, 1819-1820, to the Military Secretary's Office of Cape Colony, 1822-1828, and as Governor and Commander-in-Chief of the Leeward Islands, 1841-1845. The letters describe their social life, assess such superiors as the Duke of Richmond in Quebec and Sir Galbraith Lowry Cole in the Cape Colony.
