'Log of H.M.S. Victory commanded by Capt. G. Bowyear. kept by G.T. Wingfield, Midn. From December 18th 1868 to February 15th 1869', and logs of H.M.S. Bristol and Phoebe, 16 Feb. 1869 to 20 May 1870. Maps. The logs cover the voyages of H.M.S. Bristol from Plymouth to Barbados, Bermuda and return (Feb.-June 1869), then Plymouth to Madeira and Bahia (June-Aug. 1869); also the voyage of H.M.S. Phoebe from Bahia to Rio, Monte Video, Cape of Good Hope, Melbourne, Sydney, Hobart, Lyttleton, Wellington, Auckland, Yokohama, Vancouver Island (Aug. 1869 - May 1870). A newspaper obituary of Admiral Spencer Smyth is inserted opposite title page.
