Official and personal papers relating mainly to Savige's military career during the 1939-1945 war but including 2 boxes of First World War material. Collection comprises personal letters and telegrams, lectures and addresses, 4 A.D.C. diaries, 1942-1945, battle reports, operational orders and instructions, intelligence summaries, maps, war diaries, B.B.C. news summaries, routine orders, location statements, RECCE instructions, movement orders, action diaries, translations of captured enemy documents, aerial photographs, narratives of events and correspondence and notes on conferences. It covers campaigns in Libya, Greece, Crete, Syria, New Guinea, New Britain, Solomons and Bougainville (1939-1945) and fighting at Gallipoli, the Somme and Arras, Butte de Warlancourt, Ploegsteert Wood and the Hindenburg Line (1914-1918).
