John Smith was manager of Niel Black's stations Mount Noorat and The Sisters and later partner with Black Bros. at Grassdale Station, Victoria. From the description of Papers [manuscript]. (Libraries Australia). WorldCat record id: 225785229 J. Smith, 1811-1895, grazier, arrived in Sydney in 1836. He became Superintendent to John Betts in 1839 for the property Molong, N.S.W. In 1845 he bought part of this run and in 1847 built Gamboola. He married Mary Tom in 1842. ...
