Handwritten initialed drafts of seven poems entitled "Bazin", "Projection of Sorrow", "The Flameless Moon", "Ballad of an Idealist", "Tragic Love", "Reflection" and "Shadows" which were published in 1936 under the collective title of "Seven sciagraphical poems" as a chapter in his anthology in "Songs and incantations". Also includes envelope with draft of poem, letter of 17.10.1937, and postcard of 3.11.1936 from Turner discussing his poetry. Also typescript of a Turner broadcast made in 1946 entitled "Studies of English letters: Thomas Hardy."

Turner was born in Melbourne where he attended Scotch College and theSchool of Mines. He travelled in Europe and South Africa, and served with the British army during World War I. By 1918 Turner had published two volumes of verse and became recognized as a member of the Georgian group ofwriters. Turner became literary editor of the London DAILY HERALD and THESPECTATOR.
