The collection, assembled by Harry F. Chaplin, includes manuscripts of poems by John Neilson (father of J.S. Neilson) and J.S. Neilson; autographed inscribed copies of published items: typescripts of poems; one working notebook and letters. Correspondents include J.K. Moir, James Devaney, Frank Neilson, R.H. Croll, A.G. Stephens, Margaret Sutherland, Kate Baker, B.J. Brady, H. McGrae, H. Hamington and Dr. E.G. Whittacker. Also an autobiography dictated and signed by J.S. Neilson in the form of letters to James Devaney. The collection includes material used by James Devaney in compiling his biography of Neilson.
