"written aboard the missionary schooner Day Spring during the voyages in the years 1867 and 1868 to the New Hebrides and Royalty Groupe of Western Polynesia." Also includes two notes, one apparently an extract from A. W. Murray's book "Missions in Western Polynesia", London: John Snow, 1863, and the other a discussion of the missions of the New Hebrides and the work of prominent missionaries, particularly Rev. John Williams.
