Contains letters to John Symonds from Rolf Hennequel (also spelt Henkl), philologist and professor of literature, referring to Hennequel's interests in European languages, Buddhism and Asian religions which he discovered through German philosophers. It also includes photographs of Hennequel, postcards, newspapers clippings and 3 off-prints: "The clay images from Fondoukistan" (1952), "The wooden sculptures of Kafiristan" (1950), "Afghan clay architecture" (1950) and 1 booklet entitled "The study of comparative literature" (1952).
