Papers of Teki Dalton [manuscript]. 1956-1994.

The collection contains correspondence, reports, notebooks, newspaper cuttings, subject files, submissions, cassettes and other records documenting Dalton's involvement in the book trade, yachting, and ACT community organisations. The book trade papers relate to his professional career in Dymock's Book Arcade and Cheshire's Bookshop and his businesses Dalton's Bookshop and Dalton Publishing Company. There are also papers relating to the 1979 NSW Prices Commission enquiry into book prices and his membership of the Australian Booksellers Association and its NSW Division. The yachting papers include files on Dalton's involvement in CYCOD Pty Ltd, Canberra Ocean Racing Club, Canberra Yacht Club, numerous yacht races and his "Canberra Times" yachting column. The ACT community organisations include Rotary Club of Canberra North, ACT Society for the Physically Handicapped, the Task Force on City Centre and the ACT Sport and Recreation Committee Sports Subcommittee. Bookseller and yachtsman. Dalton began his career in 1955 at Dymocks in Sydney and Cheshires in Canberra in 1962. In 1968 he established Dalton Publishing Company and Dalton's Bookshop. He was an office-holder in the New South Wales Booksellers Association (1978-1979) and the Australian Booksellers Association (1980-1984).
