Letters of the Lord family, 1830-1844 [manuscript]. 1830-1844.

Consists of seven letters (one incomplete) chiefly from Tasmania to Charlotte Lord. Four of these letters are from Charlotte's brother William S. Noyes and comment on conditions in Tasmania and New Zealand. Also included in the collection is a letter from John Lord (Charlotte's husband) to Mrs Papineau in London, governess of their two children, 1830.

Charlotte Lord nee Noyes was in Hobart in 1830; her husband had been wrecked in the Indian Ocean, and was returning to Hobart. Their children Ann and William were with a governess in London. Charlotte is recorded as living in Calcutta in 1832, London in 1839 (where she was married to Mr Denton, who died that year). By 1842 she was addressed as Mrs Fraser.
