TLS, 1953 November 12 : Paris, to Nancy MacDonald, New York City.

Camus writes Nancy MacDonald of Spanish Refugee Aid regarding his political views. "I read your letter as the comic assertion that I was supporting Communism in France, when, on the same day, a Communist paper was insulting me once again ... It just establishes once again the incredible ignorance of some good intended Americans towards European affairs ... Most of the Spanish refugees in France are anti-Communist." He goes on to discuss the Spanish refugee feeling of being betrayed by Americans.
